Statement of Faith for Overshadowed Ministries
We Believe:
- The Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16
- There is one God eternally existing in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. Matthew 28:19
- Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of the virgin Mary. Matthew 1:18-23
- Jesus Christ was crucified for the remission of sin, a propitiation to God for fallen hunamity. Romans 4:24-25
- Jesus Christ was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead on the third day. He ascended to heaven and now sits on the right hand of God the Father as mankind’s intercessor. 1 John 2:1-2
- All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Repentance and a true conversion are commanded by God, and necessary for the forgiveness of sin. Romans 3:23
- We are justified and forgiven of sin by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. Romans 3:25, Romans 5:1
- Sanctification is both immediate and progressive subsequent to the new birth, through the word of God and by the Holy Ghost. John 17:17, 1 Peter 1:2
- Holiness is God’s standard of living for His people. Hebrews 12:14
- That all believers should obey the command of Jesus Christ and be baptized in the Holy Ghost according to Acts 2:4, that they might recieve power to be witnesses and to be properly prepared for His second appearance. Matthew 28:19-20, Matthew 25:1-13, Acts 1:4
- In the speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance, as the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Ghost. Acts 10:45-46
- In water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost for all who have repented. Matthew 28:19
- Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement and redemptive work of jesus Christ on the cross. Isiah 53:5, Matthew 8:17, 1 Peter 2:24, James 5:14
- In the effectual fervent prayers of the saints. James 5:16
- In the dedication of our children unto the Lord as a covenant and a witness to lovingly raise them in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4, Titus 2:4
- In the sanctity of marriage as an ordained institution of God, whereby a man and a woman are joined as one flesh. Ephesians 5:31
- In paying the tithe of ten percent to the church as our reasonable service for the preservation of the ministry, according to Malachi 3:8-11, and Matthew 23:23. Genesis 28:22
- The pre-tribulation second appearance of Jesus, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living Spirit led saints to meet Him in the air. Luke 21:36, Romans 8:14, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
- In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous in Heaven, and eternal punishment for the wicked damned in Hell. John 3:16-18,36; Revelation 21:8
- In conducting ourselves in decency and in order in all things, particularly honoring the house of the Lord. 1 Corinthians 14:40
